TechIMO subscription service
Who would be willing to pay for a subscription service? I would myself would gladly support Scott & Mark and everyone else involed to help the life of this site. The adds don't bother me, but I understand that their are major costings to keep a site like this afloat and if income off of a subscription service would help than that's great. I visit every night after work, not always posting but I'm here, and of all of the BB sites I've been on this has to be the best IMO and the people you find here are like no other. Thanks Scott & Mark and keep up the great work. |

I would be willing to pay a modest amount. Something in the neighborhood of $20 to $40 a year would be ideal. It depends on the services offered. More services, the more I am willing to pay. The services Scott outlined previously would be worth $36 a year to me.

if this is just to quiet jad and the others up, count me out
if scott needs the help tough.. i dunno
im not that young, but some of the younger folks here may have parents who dont want to pay a membership for a website.
i dunno if i could even afford it.
edit:
i will say whatever i want to say
its my opinion
this site has already lost enough great members
also, im not doing anything
they start sh*t on their own

Dude you should of done a POLL!!
Lock this one down, and start one
Yeah if it is within my abilities, I would
Jacob, it wouldn't disclude everybody else.
You would essentially just be paying for extra services and no ads. The overall site would still be free however with ads etc. |

Jacob - Don't run your mouth off. It won't get you anywhere.
I agree. Start a poll - I'd be interested to see the results. Anyway, assuming I saw consistant site upgrades, increasing flow of content - I'd pay upwards of $60/yr.

I'd say depending on the services offered, I would pay probably $40 a year. Maybe more....

I ain't rich, but I can find the fee to help Scott, Mark, and the gang! Especially as long as we keep the profanity and flaming reputation (not tolerated) that we have!
I owe all of you too much to not do my part to keep this site up and available for everyone and if that means paying a modest fee for my not wanting to see all the ads, then I'm for it!
BTW, Scott, Mark, and gang -- I like the new lay-out! NICE JOB!

Subscription service .. mmm .. No!
Not that i can`t afford it .. but i just don`t like the idea of it ..
I would suggest to put a donation account .. paypal or other .. and the people, who would like to help and support, can send whatever they want to that account ...
Or making this subscription service optional and for extra cool services which regular members will not enjoy ...
IMO

Ken --
I think the idea is, the site remains free. . . .
Those who wish to pay a modest subscription fee for extra's, such as no ads, will have that option.

there is a site i frequent called Fender Forum they have a donation account set up w/ pay pal. the donators dont get anything extra but it helps keep that site up and running. it has been up for a while and they do a good job over there. i think there is a way to keep this place free for those who want it and i think there is enough interest in what scott has suggested about a subscription for both to work. if you pay you get the perks if not then you dont.
