How many worlds would we need if everybody lived like you?

An ecological footprint quiz:

http://www.earthday.net/footprint/index.asp

According to the survey, if everybody lived like me, we would need 2.5 Earths.

Some of my friends scored as high as seven. How'd you do?

3 planets............if they could actually convince me that my geological footprint was 13 acres. Unfortunately their #'s are about 3/4 (75%) non-renewable which is a HUGE factor that they don't want you to know about.....

AND.....

their assumption is that there would literally be *NO* compensation for such a biological/geographic/demographic change in our world.

For a short while (very short) my major in college was "environmental biology". You can do 2 things with a degree in environmental biology...........#1.......be depressed about even waking up in the morning because of the air you consume and the waste you produce or............#2..........get so sick of worrying about how bad humans are for this planet you go completely the opposite way and abuse resources like they're not going anywhere.

Schweeeeet! 9.2

I guess I should start riding a bike to work and back. It's only a tad over 100 miles round trip.

And while I'm being green, I should probably get a much smaller house and ask a few more people to come live with us.

Good thing it didn't ask how many books we own. Think of all the TREES!!! OH, THE BOTANY!!!

No need to be defensive about the test results. I can't imagine anybody actually believing the ten or so questions are meant to be a perfect depiction of an individual's consumption. It's just to illustrate that individual choices and actions actually have larger effects.

I actually wrote that before I saw your post, I had to leave my desk for a couple minutes and didn't have a chance to hit "enter."

The eye-roll emoticon made the sarcasm pretty obvious.
