How to raise $$ for techimo...

All this fuss about the ads got me thinking. (yes they do annoy me somewhat, but I can always take my ball and play elsewhere if I want)

For the record, I don't even know who advertises at this site. I guess I do a pretty good job of tuning them out. My understanding of this whole banner/popup game is you get paid when we click. A few people claim to do this out of the kindness of their hearts. I am not one of them. That may be why $$'s are hard to come by and this place is going downhill as far as all these ads go.

So here is my solution. Under post countand location and all, have an "Ad Clicks" tally. Put it out in the open who supports and who doesn't. Maybe even tie some sort of reward to it. You have all seen how people post like mad to get up to 50 so they can have an avatar. Maybe make it 50 posts and 10,15, or 25 ad clicks. Maybe after so many clicks, people can get an additional title. Everyone here is always reaching for that brass ring when it is present. Instead of suscribing for special features, allow so many ad clicks to unlock them.

I have never seen any systems like this at any other forum and think it could be the next great thing. Just a thought =)

or how about have the website like TV every 5 to 10 min have an ad flash on the screen then you can't just IGNORE a small ad in a corner
come on people these ad's are not that bad they could be worse like have pop behinds every time you goto a new page now thats a pain in...

Or, a simpler solution would be: Pay attention to the ads, and when it interests/intrigues you, then click on it. There are enough people that visit this board that if everyone did this, it'd be enough.

Yeah, part of the reason why we now have a store is to raise a bit of extra money, and I thinks that's really cool (as I like to show off TechIMO stuff).

Yeah, anyway, that just my opinion.
