going through old photos

my wife has put it into my head that I need to put my photos from my military days in an album. So I'm going through tons of photos trying to organize them with each deployment. Of course I'm looking at them as I'm going through them and I swear I don't recognize myself! I'm looking and I'm thinking "who in the hell was I back then"? Anyone else feel this when confronted with old photos?

They can play some mind games on you...for instance my old military photos....I remember how wrapped up I was with this girl back then..and other stuff that seemed SO important..and none of that stuff is even in my life at all now, lol....so in a way it is like looking at a stranger..sort of weird..ESPECIALLY since none of those people are in my life anymore..and no one here at home saw me for 2.5 years...so its like the years from 18.5 to 21 were almost another life, lol.

I've never been in the military,so most of the pics I have involve people that are still in my life.

I can imagine how it would feel that way though.
