Bad link.

Descent depends on point of view. If your buying locally, try it and take it back if your not satisfied. For $24.00 you cant expect much.....

Heres the specs from another site

Argus DC-1500

If I remember right the reviews on that line weren't that impressive. Another thing is the resolution, at best that is approx 4 x 5 inches on screen. In print terms that usually means you are not going to get much of a usable print past 3 x 4 inches.
Another thing is that you will probably be limited to the storage on camera only.
If it were me I think I'd be looking for at least 1 megapixel capacity. At least you would get enough resolution to do 4 x 5 prints and usable 5 x 7's.

yea your probally right it's probally junk. I would love a $300 dollar camera but I just really have no use for one thats why i was thinking of a cheepy like this... just to snap shots with to throw on the web...however I may give it a try because web pics don't really need to be that good anyway.

Your link doesn't work because you typed in the http:// and it is already there when you have a link. Here it is working right.

Argus Camera

From the specs it's worth about $2.95. The resolution is so poor that it's not going to satisfy anybody unless they just want to use it as a Web cam. Not even 640 x 480 which is just about the minimum in my book.

You can do a lot better. It's not as good as some of the $5.00 after rebate stuff I saw around Christmas time. Read the posts here at TechIMO on Doc's Deals for a while. You'll find something better.

Argus was a well know name 50 years ago. I suspect this is a rip off of their name that sort of disappeared in the 1950s as they were unable to compete with better quality stuff at lower price. I'm surprised to see the name but guess I shouldn't be surprised.

You'll be much happier with the cam posted by doc for just a few more bucks you'll get memory expandability and an image twice as large and there's even a built in flash. My advice would be to save a few more bucks and opt for a decent $100 to $150 camera...you should be able to get one with an lcd to preview the pix in the field and removable memory and most likely a 1 mega pixel resolution. I use a Kodak DC3200 daily and like it. It has a 1.5 inch lcd removable memory and came with an 8mb compact flash (use a 32mb on a daily basis but 8mb as backup is nice) also it uses standard(or rechargable) aa batteries...beware digi cams with "special" batteries or be prepared to buy a backup of that propriatary cell.BTW I boiught the DC3200 through one of Doc's post over at the "evil board" for under $99 (after MIR)
