Good news, his new implant allows him to hear again! He can talk on the phone and converse normally now.

That's great news for ANYBODY.

I'm not sure he really heard anything unless he agreed with it even before his recent medical problems.

And whether he ever could talk on the phone "normally" is subject to interpretation!

It must be that it worked due to his extremely correct conservative viewpoint and life!!!

A man was able to overcome a disability with the help of modern medicine. Reguardless if you agree/disagree with his views, you have no right to make fun of someone with a disibility.

I hope you aren't teaching your children to live this way.

I think you didn't interpet the posts as they were meant to be taken. Neither I nor any of the other posters that I read were taking pot shots at somebody in a wheelchair.

Just because he did have a problem hearing doesn't mean that nobody should be able to object to what I consider to be his righteous political views and the way that I believe he puts everybody down who doesn't agree with him.

I think he's a bloated windbag who loves to hear himself talk. AND I am happy that modern medicine was able to cure his hearing problem. I listen to him for a short while (all I can stand) from time-to-time for lots of laughs and entertainment - the same way I listen to Doctor Laura from time-to-time. Both he and she have some good ideas and what I think to be sensible ideas about SOME things but in general I can't take much of either of them. Now, if something would cure my loss of hearing with age that isn't helped by hearing aids I'd also be happy.

And YOU are free to put me down. I have thick skin and wouldn't hide behind some physical disability!

Fine if you figure nobody should be criticized for anything however I think that people who are "public figures" should have no expectation of not being "put down" no matter what their infirmities. They open themselves to criticism, ridicule and being dragged through the public press by virtue of their occupation. Perhaps that's what they get obscene salaries for???
