Mid-east, Mid-west????

do you live in the mid-west or in the mid-east

anything west of ohio i consider midwest (even western ohio i call it that). i dont call anything mideast except the middle east

We now tend to call "Middle East" what used to be called "Near East": Turkey, Armenia, Lebanon, Israel/Jordan (or Palestine, as it was then).

Which should be just "Mid". West shouldn't start until Colorado and points north and south.

thats part of the problem

if there is a mid-west, then there has to be an west-west, an east west, west-west east.

when I enlisted in the AirForce I met people from the Mid-west, so if they're from the middle of west, where is the beginning of west? the end of east?

If east has an end then it has a middle, so "mid east"
