For all the lucky guys with girlfriends...
I know this is kind of mushy, but oh well...
Two things:
1. How did you and your g/f meet, and how did you end up going out?
2. What advice do you have for those seeking a good, steady relationship?
Yeah, I really need a girl
Thanks

My girlfriend and I met bowling for our school. We both share that interest so that was a start. We didnt start dating for about 9 months after we met. Actually it was about 2 months or so [when the bowling season ended] when we finally started becoming friends. At first I didnt think I wanted to date her because I thought how great our friendship was and didnt wanna ruin that. We went to a friends party [not together] and after openly contemplating the decision with each other we decided to give it ago. We have been dating, mostly happily, for almost 9 months now.
I think communication and trust is good for a long relationship. I'll bet most people will say that too. I, however, am not the best communicator in the world, especially when it comes to mushy, sensitive talk with the girlfriend. I am lucky though because she is very understanding of this and doesnt bother her as much as it used to. Trust wise, I trust her [she went to a school dance with another fellow, I think I trust her cant trust the guy though.]. But that doesnt mean I cant be protective. I try to keep an eye out for her.
Hope this helps, and I wish you luck with encounters of the feminine kind.

I'm over the hill. I've been married since, well, since about the time the Beatles broke up. So, by definition, what do I know?
1) We met at church. I smiled at her. She smiled at me. I asked if she'd like to see a movie...
2) A good steady relationship would seem to be difficult in a world over-run with "I-me-mine". Trolling in clubs would seem self-defeating. Clean up, be positive, mind your manners, and choose to hang out where people of character may be located. Get out from behind the damn PC once in a while.
Good luck. As for my advice, take it or leave it. It was free. |

now about a year and a half ago i was in the same situation as you. i found the best way to find the best girl is to not look for her... just live life and keep an open mind. she will find her way to you.

1) My wife and I were in High School together. I asked her to my Senior Prom, she said no. Later, we ended up at the same University, we hit it off and became friends (I was dating someone else at the time). When I broke up with the other girl, my wife and I became closer friends. Eventually one day, we decided we should date. We dated for 3 months then we got engaged. Married one year later. The wedding was 7 years ago this coming September.
2) And as Butch said, keep that mind open. A good friend can become a great girlfriend. I don't know how old you are, but seeing you are a student, you have lots of time. Just have fun, you will find someone.

I'm sorry brandon...our long distance relationship thing wasn't working out. I know I had to break it to you at some point, I'm sorry it had to be so public
