Ten Years After His Suicide, Kurt Cobain's Music Influence — and Tragedy — Live On

Satellite radio is playing all recorded music/concerts/bootlegs etc back to back today in his memory...

I heard a feature on NPR this morning about him. The music sounded just like the "electric" half of my daughter's music school recitals (she's in the violin side). They always do about 3-4 Nirvana covers. I always thought those kids were really bad. Now I know that it wasn't their fault. They sounded just like what I heard on the radio!

I know a few people that are rather depressed today. I really don't care, too much.

I think the pop music world took a wild turn when Nirvana burst upon the scene, I remember the first time I heard Teen Spirit 13 years ago---like most I said to myself "What the heck is this and how can I get more of it?"
Milli Vanilly and Tiffany were topping the charts at the time...

I'm not sad that Nirvana 'wrecked' music.

Each to his own, says I.

Read the books, Mike. They're pretty informative about what really happened.

A couple of buddies and myself are playing a Nirvana tribute gig this thursday. Man I loved that band. I was like 12 at the time Nevermind exploded, and I remember watching Smells Like Teen Spirit for the first time was like "whoaa dude!!".

And for those of you who think Nirvana sucks...oh well whatever nevermind.
