Speaker Cabinet Gurus, Please Read

Ladies, Gentlemen, OuT...

Would any of you lovely and creative people be willing to donate some time in the form of designing me an enclosure? I have the speaker specifications (somewhere) and the tuning frequency I'd like. Possibly two designs, one for a 12" speaker and one for a 10" speaker. The cabinet is going to be for my bass rig, so I need a full range cabinet. I don't think I'm going to use a tweeter at all because, well, I don't want to.

Anyone interested?

BTW, Knothead, I need to send you a PM so remind me if you haven't gotten it and you read this.

Toss me the speaker specs, and I will try to take a look into this project when I have some free time next week.

Well, the smaller the better. Most 2x10s are about 2.5' x 1.5' x 2' or so. I'd like them to be deeper than wide or tall, if you know what I mean, if that's possible.

Here's one of Ampeg's 2x10 ported cabinets, just for a look. I actually want two single cabinets though, rather than a double. I'm crazy, don't ask why.

I'm not sure what a good port frequency would be. Probably somewhere between 40Hz and 50Hz. I have no idea how to tune ports. I think my 4x10 cabinet was tuned to 47Hz, but it's got the usuable low listed as 43Hz. Small cabinets seem so to get better numbers in that area. That 2x10 goes down to like 38Hz and usable is like 45Hz or something. You probably know more about it than I do.

This will actually be a first for me, as I know plenty about car speaker systems, but have never designed a cabinet for a bass guitar.

I agree concerning frequency, as low to mid 40's would probably be a good starting point.

How bout car sub cabinets?
There are a bunch of designs by many many companys, might have to modify them but it could be an inexpensive way if you decide not to go completely custom...
