Forum Rule Question???

Maybe someone could help me out here. While doing my nightly refresher of the Techimo forum conduct rules, I came across this one.

"Members will not start topics or post comments for the purpose of ridiculing or discriminating against minority groups or religious beliefs."

If I wanted to start a thread that ridiculed, oh lets say... white males, would that be alright? I mean, as long as those white males were not affiliated with any certain religious group, it seems I would be perfectly within Techimo guidelines.

Also, are the minority groups in the above rule only the minority groups of the United States, or is that every minority regardless of which country they might be a minority in.

For example. If I were posting from Africa there would be a good chance that black people would be a majority therefore lifting the ban on posting ridiculing or discriminating topics about them.

I guess my real question is, can I post whatever I want about the "Oppressor Class" as long as they are not part of a religious group or sect?

Could someone please clear this up for me?

The purpose of that rule is to prevent derogatory or hateful comments intended to inflame, degrade, or otherwise cause grief to a particular person or group of people.

You can certainly start a discussion about the "Oppressor Class" but it can't be hateful or offensive. Email or PM your post to any mod for advance permission if you have any question about the suitabilty of the topic.

No kidding.

We could sit here all day asking, "Wait.. This rule says this. But WHAT IF...". Interpret them and use them as a general guide as to what is and is not allowed around here. There are things that are not even listed in the FAQ that you can simply assume would not be appropriate - just by observing the dynamics of the forum community.

Those who push the rules don't last long around here - trust me.
