Back masking is an old hobby. I remember the rumours of Paul McCartney's death and replacement with a ring-in, mainly based on backwards tracks in some Beatles albums.

Try this, if you have the stuff: record yourself reciting something (anything - a poem, national anthem, song lyrcis), then play it backwards. I guarantee your brain will make something out of some of it.

Remember the Beatles had a song and if you played it backwards said something like paul is dead or at least they said think song was abby road.

The Beatles White Album and the song was called Revolution #9

The lyrick is "#9" said repeatedly.

Remove the drive band on the turntable and spin the album backwards manually. If you spin it just at the right speed, it says in a hurried voice, "Paul is dead" repeatedly.

When the back masking hype was at it's greatest, I recall a Christian band (Petra, I think) started a song with what sounded like nonsense. Play it backwards and it apparently clearly said "Why are you looking for the Devil when you should be looking for the Lord"! Can't recall the name of the song.

All of the supposed instances of back masking have never been technically verifiable; that is, if you play the bit backwards through a synthesizer, it's not recognised it as human speech or voice. The doomsayers say it's because satanic voices aren't human. I say it's because a mechanical device doesn't extrapolate like our brains do.
