What Drives You?

I guess a better question is, what do you drive? My wife was in an accident this past weekend and while she is fine (with only seatbelt bruises and airbag rash) the Civic is most likely totaled.

So now we are in a position to get one and possibly two new cars (it is about time for me to turn in my car too).

We have been looking at Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru. I've never owned any of these cars and I was wondering what kind of experiences you have all had. Give me the good and the bad. Personally I would like to go with Subaru. The WRX seems like a hell of a car.

I had to beg my wife just to get her to test drive the Impreza RS but she loved it. We would probably get her the RS and me the WRX. She said she didn't need to do 0-60 in under 6 seconds. Bah!

just dont' put a huge tailpipe on it sounds so retarded lol

I prefer larger cars.. I can't handle small cars.. too tall
I like to speed up fast, but I'd prefer a nice smooth drive over long distance.

Well, I'm a small type (5'5" = 165 cm). Anything much bigger than a Honda Civic or maybe a Toyota Camry and I'd look like Mr. Toad...

Check out Acuras too. Personally, I want a 2003 2-door V6 Honda Accord EX, dark blue w/ front and rear spoilers, ~$23k

::sigh:: 2 more years till I get out of prison.

I love hondas and acuras but they never do any special financing. The lowest they ever go is like 3.9% and that is on a four year loan. Those V6 Accords are pretty beautiful cars though. Another great thing about Hondas is that they keep you alive in a crash. After my wifes accident, the crash test results are suddenly more important to me

What I am most interested in is finding a car that is fun to drive and low maintenance. Can anyone here tell me their past experience with Subarus. I only know one other person who has one and he trades it in every two years. I will probably keep mine a little longer than that.

Subarus are very reliable cars. We've had one since 1996 and we've never had a problem with it. We just got a 2004 legacy (30th anniversary edition) and its really nice. I know a lot of other people that drive them too. I would like to get an SVX but I doubt that would ever happen . Just one word of advice...if you get one, please dont let it be a baja...its like there trying to bring back something that died a long time...and things die for a reason...

I'm a Subaru or Lexus or person myself. Some of the newer Nissans and Acuras aren't bad either.

Check out the Nissan Sentra SE-R for the wife if she doesn't mind driving manual.
