Woodworking saws: Amazing safety technology

Ever been intimidated, even just a little, when having to use a table saw or chop saw or other high speed dangerous device in the shop? This new technology should help rid any fears you might have of not being able to find 2 or 3 fingers before you have to rush off to the hospital due to blood loss. You couldn't cut your fingers off with one of these saws even if you tried!

SawStop <--- go and watch those videos. Impressive.

I still have all my digits, but here 'n there over the years I've had a few blades kick, snag or bind up on me with my hand way too close for comfort. Had it been installed, this technology wouldn't have changed any those incidents, but just knowing it was there may have put me a little more at ease.

Pretty cool
Luckily I have not required the use of one of these yet but have come close lots of times
Nothing like using a bandsaw and suddenly realizing your thumb is a 1/4" away from the blade or using a radial arm saw that grabs the wood and races at you [thankfully] just missing you fingers

Now if they REALLY wanted to sell some product and show how much they trust it, they would use the inventors finger to take the little "nick" rather then a hotdog---pretty cool idea for newbys---
Knot probably dont need it...

That's a pretty interesting invention. And yeah, they need to use a real finger instead of a dog.

Outstanding find, OuT!

Although anyone who isn't using "push sticks" on a table saw will sooner or later find themselves with a new nickname (i.e., "Ol' Seven-fingers", etc.)

But that demonstration with the Bandsaw really sold me, man! As soon as I get that bandsaw I've been drooling over, I am DEFINITELY gonna have it fitted up with a SawStop!

Oh, yeah!

You havent officially done woodworking until you have almost cut your finger off on a table saw doing something stupid....having said that, im an expert woodworker.

PS- also never try ripping plywood thats wider than it is long...unless you want that plywood coming back and leaving a hole in your gut. (raises hand).

I should have died plenty of times in my early woodworking days, I would gladly use one of these.
