I am become death...

...the destroyer of bugs.

I love the coming of Spring as much as the next guy, but man the bugs are brutal on the car. I left for work this morning with a clear windshield and I could barely see through it when I got there. My commute runs 60 miles across vast, empty fields and the bugs are swarming. Little bugs, too. You can't see them, but they leave teardrop-sized splats on the windshield. I feel like a baleen whale scooping up plankton by the ton. What a mess.

Hahah. Ya, that's always an unfortunate part of the warm weather. Especially back home where there's a lot of lowland and swamps for misquitos swarms to congregate in. Makes for a lot of scrubbing at the carwash.

Maybe a bug-zapper on a 2' extension on your front bumper?

Really, really good wiper blades?

Hmm. Lemme get back to ya, M_Six!

How's this: be glad you're not riding a motorcycle?

I'm thinking if I drive fast enough I can create a shockwave in front of the car that will splatter them before they hit my windshield.

Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

Oops, did I say "ticket"?

hehe...then dont ever visit Virginia in the summer...mosquito city!

then again...I imagine arkansas would be rough....I know Mississippi is rough cuz I was down there for 6 months....I remember marching to class on the Air Force base....every once in a while youd here a loud CRUNCCCCCCHHHHH....someone stepping on those huge bugs....I always called em "waterbugs" but they look like huge roaches.

I remember being a kid visiting in Florida....the whole trip for me was semi runined cuz of the constant battle to keep from being bitten by horseflies.

Glad I live in Pennsylvania. Not too many bugs up here. At least it's not to the point of the whole windsheild of a car being covered with em.

Yeah, the bugs are the only things I hate about baseball. Just standing there in the outfield when a bee comes buzzing by, setting up camp on your hat.

I have some sort of phobia I think when it comes to bugs. Whenever I'm walking and theres a bunch of little nats around, I always think that I am or will swallow them. Thats why when I do walk by them I rarely talk or breathe through my mouth. The worst, however, is getting one of those peckers in your eye.

You know they make those bug catchers that mount on the hood for a reason

I have one on each of my vehicles,it doesn't stop them completely, but sure does thin out the splat area a good deal

Truckpuller's right.

They're called "pets" when they get that big.

lol

No real bug problem here in Oregon, weather is too freaky for them to survive. And if there is one buzzing around my house, either my dog will jump up and eat it, or the cat will molest it until it lives no more.

Save for the locust infestations.......oh wait that's in SimCity.
