It's NOT fair! ( long )
Taxes!!!
Pisses me off!!!
I was at the hair cutters today, she had been cutting hair at the same place for 7 years, seeing the same guy for 7 years and etc..
Well, a radio commercial came on about a Kia car dealer offering to double your income tax check...let them do your taxes...they take the money off the car, up to $2500 rebate matching.
That got me thinking, so I said to the hair cutter "Anyone who would get $2,500 back would probably make enough money to not want to have a Kia in the first place."
I was floored by her response, she said "I was thinking about getting one of those since I usually get between $2500 and $3000 back.".
Of cousrse, I had to ask how much she pay's in taxes, so she said about $2,000.
This means she gets more back than she pays in. I asked her how that works, she said the gov't gives her deductions for having two kids and not being married ( she has a live in boyfriend too ).
That struck me as odd, because I pay about $6,000 in fed income tax each year and get about $300 back each year, while she pays NO taxes, and gets more than that back money back.
So I asked her: "Why should I have to pay for her to have kids?" She had no comprehension of what I was talking about.
I had to explain it to her in black and white: "You get paid by the govt to have kids, and I get over taxed because I do NOT have kids." So then she tells me how I am not paying for her kids, the government is!!!!
How F'ing STUPID are people anyway? Who does she think the governments taking that money from? ME!!!
I mean come on, I see her point, it cost a lot to raise kids...but that was her choice to have them, it was NOT up to me. And if she needs so much money back, why is she thinking about buying a new car? ( Her current car looks pretty nice to me, probably more dependable than mine and would definitely get better mileage since it was less than 3 years old and has a 4 cylinder engine ).
It just pisses me off people getting something from me, not by my choice...because THEY were LESS responsible than I was in the choices THEY made!!!

Well, all I can say is shame on her for running her mouth about how much she will get back. To me, that is my own personal business and no one else's. It doesn't matter if I have kids or not, or if I get more than you or not. My business, case closed.
Just think, if she would not have run her mouth about it, you wouldn't know, hence you wouldn't be pissed off right now. Remember, what you don't know can't hurt you.
So you are pissed about it, there is really nothing you can do about it so just let it go. |

| Do you mean it isnt responsible to raise a human life? if so i beg to differ.
Many people take advantage of government welfare and this is wrong but many people also need it to survive. Paying taxes so a single mother can put food on the table is great but if she is taking advantage of the system then should she be rewarded for her dishonesty? imo, no

It's very irresponsible to concieve a child that you cannot provide for yourself.
And in the case BBA has provided she seems to be irresponsible in budgeting her money also.

| Who, wait a minute here! The lady is working, and you are saying she cannot provide for her children just because Uncle Sam gives her a little extra back on her tax refund? That's an irresposible statement!

Speedstick. Did you even read what BBA wrote????
The money she is getting back isn't hers. She didn't pay that money in taxes. Hence she isn't supporting her children herself. Is there something about this concept you cannot understand?
I find it no different for a couple to have a child and then have me pay for it then I would if that same couple went out and bought a new car and had me make the payments. Both are a choice.

Well the lady is definitely a few candles short of a birthday cake. First off, as most Americans, she had no concept where the federal government gets its money and thus its power. Next she is giving the federal government a $2500 to $3000 a year, no interest loan. If she had a few more brain cells rubbing together, then she would lower her withholdings and invest that money for a retirement so she won't be burden on the rest of us when she old and on social security.
