Systems Bad Luck Strikes Again

Hello all to the greatest geek family online!

Once again I am hit with another stroke of badluck. Seems to be one thing after the other since i have moved a few short weeks ago. Wow has it been few weeks already?

I am still in the process of trying to get my money back from the old landlord, technically they have 30 days from the date of move out to give me my money back however with a witness they said i was entitled to a complete full refund and that I should get it in a couple of weeks. nary a check in the mail yet. they refuse to respond to my emails confirming that they have my updated email address and forwarding address, so i took matters in my own hands and mailed them a certified postal letter stating all this. so if they choose not to pick it up or refuse to sign for it it should kick back to my mailbox about the time when thier 30 days are up to send me my money. frankly i have grave doubts about this. well Ill take that up when the time comes up.

having to move was the start of my bad luck streak. im not saying their has been good moments in between cause thier has but it seems that i have been having one too many blonde moments and I am not even blonde. driving off without my atm cards, feeling totally illiterate when it comes to my computers. fortuanly i have had a few good friends online to help me walk through these times. and school is going good no complaints there.
now the lastest happening of my bad streak is that i am fighting with doctors here in oregon to get what i need. my knee was sore upon moving out and it has slowly been getting progressivly worse. when to urgent care once the week before and they put a knee brace on and told me to take 800mg motrin twice a day and if not better go back in a weke with reg doc. i been calling and calling to get in all last week. no room at all, said for me to wait till the 25th for my appt. and if its bad go to urgent care downstairs. so friday i did just that. not much the urgent care doctor could do. at this point my foot was falling assleep randomly and wake up then fall asleep again all the while not having much range of motion with my knee, feels like there are a few brinks sitting on top the knee cap. well so that urgent care doctor sent me on my way and said to kepe trying to call to get in early. i said okay, well that evening show up, my foot was staying asleep and not waking up. and by mornning time i was no longer able to put any weight even slightly on that leg. so my friend came over and took care of my kids while he dropped me of the er. they took exrays and pretty much said it wasn't going to show anything cause its not dealing with the bones. and did a blood test to rule out infection. (much more i can say for the urgent care place) this was yesterday i went to er. then we discussed pain management till i get in to a doctor and she decided to immoblize the leg since i can't handle any pressure not even a finger slightly on the knee cap. so since immoblizing it the pain been easier to manage cause they were able to finally straighten out my leg and so all is going good for now. she has also give me check out papers and a orthopediac surgon to follow up with. I am hoping i can get in monday to see this doctor to get to the bottom of the problem, but thing is they may not take me due to the medicare health plan i am on, often times you must be referred by your primary care doctor to get covered. the oregon health system is soo bad here.
so what I am asking from my fellow freinds here on TechIMO is for some prayers and if you don't belive in prayers a thought or light a candle to hope that i will get to the bottom of this soon. I dont want to wait till the 25th becase of the fact it progressively keeps gettng worse.

I have manage to set up the laptop and dealing iwth the issues of it right now so i can continue on with my school work. once its running its okay but the cursor jumps all over the place and it don't like to restart, need to shutdown then restart. i can live with it for now. My kids are doing pretty good lately, i am quite proud of them. Now if i can just keep them off my crutches.

Thank you for listening.

Dear Neo, Sorry to hear about it...you know, I'm no Dr., but your complaint w/the knee sounds a lot like my left wrist and hand, the result of a bad injury to my left shoulder some years back. The real issue is nerve damage, since everything else knit up okay. Do you have something in your history like that? It could even have been a pulled groin muscle. The nerve lines in the human body are really funny that way, and your problem, as you described it, points to this, IMO. Hope you find the right help, and get better! Todd

Thankyou all I really appreciate it.

Knothead,
It is hard to say what is going on with the right knee. The knee immoblized is actually er i should say past tense now, was my good knee. I have a history with the left leg from an ijury when i was six playing football. and for years i kept telling the doctor it was messed up i couldn't do sports well without it dislocating. finally one day after it dislocated and my lower leg wouldnt go back normal. he sent me off for surgy and i still have problems with it these days.

so for years i have always favored the right knee using my left leg to do the brunt of the work. so it could be a combination of things. years of favoring the right knee and plus the fact when i moved from old house to hear that I only had one other person helping me move everything, washer, dryrs, couches, beds, dressers, everything. so its hard to say exactly how it was injured.

bad thing about having the right leg injured is that now my left leg is getting the brunt of the work and its aggrivating the old injury. and I can't drive either. tho i guess i could put a big sign on back of my van that says. "Caution, left footed driver! Stay back a minumum of 100 feet! "

So we see what happens. will call tommorrow morning, first thing, but not sure if offices will be open since its Marther Luther King day monday.

Thank you for all the prayers and candle lights. will keep ya all posted.

All the best NeoStar. Man, you look at the health care system today, and it's hard not to be bitter about it. I was in the hospital biz for a while and got out because "managed care" wouldn't let me do what was right by my patients.

Here's hoping you can get some solutions and some relief.

Good news

The good news is that since i have an open card I can go to the orthopedic as referred from the ER. and insurance will cover it because fo the fact its open card. so that is good news.

So I can't get in today cause he is booked and tommorrow he is gone and wendesday morning at bright an early 7:30am I go in and see him. So that will be good to get on some sort of recovery plan to do what is needed to get better.

Will post back later in few days. Thanks for the prayers.

Our prayers and sympathies. We have both been there (pain without diagnosis). We know that you are scared (even if you haven't admitted it) but keep in mind that we (family, friends) are here for you, and we are not going to go away.
Angel cat has more to say, and she will be posting herself in a minute.

Get better, please??

I too am having knee problems, so I know how you feel. It is definately hard to deal with. My doctor diagnosed it as "runners knee" Which is a result of overuse. It started out after I went back to work after nearly two weeks off. I just overdid it , I climb 8 - 10 foot ladders all day, so it just got aggrivated. after a couple weeks it got so bad I couldn't walk on it. He gave me 600mg Ibuprophen to help take the swelling down. It is still a little sore so I will have to take it easy at work for a while.
I hope you recover soon
