Inappropriate Shirt?

Would you say that a shirt saying the following is inappropriate for a public high school setting?

"Oh Crap! You're trying to cheer me up, aren't you?"

Other.

I wouldn't like it, but compared to a lot of other things that go on, I'd say it's a VERY minor issue. As a H.S. student I was forced to turn my shirt inside out more than once But that was a long time ago in a far away school district.

high schools IMO treat students like are still in elementary school. high school is supposed to prepare you for college. from my personal experience, they do a very crappy job, both educationally and culturally. i wont get into the educational part because thats a whole different issue, but culturally they try to censor everything they possibly can. its almost like they are trying to turn us into machines. i am a freshman in college and the cultual difference between me being 18 years old in hs, and me being 18 years old in college is huge. i think they should be a little more open minded of things and realize that hs students, especially juniors and seniors, are very close to being adults in the real world, they arent quite there, but they arent children either. and the high schools still treat them like children. they need to be gradually introduced to the life of a college student instead of being treated like a child one moment then going to college and being treated like an adult and given the responsibilities of an adult.

ok so maybe i read too far into this, but thats what i think...

I have a friend who's daughter got suspended for refusing to take off the shirt.

While I don't necessarily disagree with the suspension for disobeying orders, I think that the school probably should have considered the fact that public schools are usually filled with young girls dressed like prostitutes (IMO).. A shirt that says "crap" is probably the least of their worries.

When I was in HS, me and my friend had matching shirts... She, being overweight, had a shirt that said, "I overcame anorexia." .. and me, not being overweight at all, had a shirt that said, "I overcame obesity." ... The school didn't like that, but we eventually got our way.

We had to wear dress shirt and slacks when i went to school seen kids get sent home from school wear faded blue jeans or a sad looking T shirt let alone with any type of writing on it. Coarse that was 30 some years ago.

That's exactly the kind of shirt I wore in high school. Along with shirts with Olivia and Broms paintings. Although they made a guy I know change his shirt once. It said beLIEve.
