Anything interesting astrologically tonight?

The sky looks strange.. The way things are lined up, I didn't know if it was weird cloud cover exposing things differently or maybe some planets out there I haven't noticed...

See I knew it!

Get out your binoculars and take a few moments to monitor the pulsating star R Virginis. No one knows how bright it will get at the peak of its current maximum

Say goodnight surreal...

So, Surreal, you've given up on the ol' dependable toothpick and marshmallow?

Hehehee, they'd LOVE being identified up there by you!

Night is just starting to happen here, should I go star-gazing?

All five planets that are visible to the naked eye are in the early evening sky for the next two weeks. West to East -- Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter. Won't happen again for 30 years! Good eye! (Well, really you can see Uranus with the naked eye, too, if you've got good eyes and a dark sky.)

Yea, it's pretty impressive. I was checking it out a couple of days ago. Makes me want to go out there. I've been fascinated with outer space since I was old enough to notice.

Me too germ. I can not understand how people can look up and just say.. OK, so now what?

But I'll just look thank you... I'm afraid I'd be a little agoraphobic!
There was a scene in Apollo 13, and I just went " wha " and realized how horrifying ................

Thanks Pexster. The clouds were rolling in, but it was really pronounced, perhaps partially because of the clouds and the planets were brighter and shining through. I thought they were planets I was seeing almost lined up. Mars and Jupiter were quite bright.
And the frogs were whistling,, ah spring. It's about 70 out, the warmest temp we've had in months. Warmer than this afternoon.

Another thing you might check out if you haven't. You can see the International Space Station. Go to NASA's website and there is a link where you can look up viewing times for your neck of the woods.
