What is the Scoop on Pay Pal good and bad?
I'm just kinda curious?
Can you guys tell me if you like it? Or if you don't why?
I would like to hear both buyer and merchant opinions..

I like it, I've used it as both a buyer and merchant. It's works with my bank account, so I can transfer funds at anytime.
I've had nothing but a good experience with it personally, though they do charge me 15% on every transaction. ( beacause it's a business account which can accept credit cards)

I dont have any complaints. I like it. It earns more interest then my checking account and is easily maintained. I have received all payments to it with out a snag and all transfers out have gone smoothly. As far as security and risk- I see it as not being any more risky then using a credit card online. The bank account that I used to verify my paypal account was setup just for it and I keep a minimal balance in it. Hope this helps.

Surreal, nothing but good from a buyers point. I'[ve had it for some time and the little bit of cash I keep in there actually earns me more than the CD's at my bank....
Pretty handy from a vendor's point of view, although I understand that the "skim" they take on a vendor who accepts credit cards is pretty fierce.

Our experience with Pay Pal has been good. Only used a couple times, but it was no troublr. However I have heard of horror stories where payments were held for weeks before processing... Could not track down the site, but it was a consumer warning site (lost part of my fav's by stupidity).
If you are only looking at it as a consumer I would say GO!
If you are looking at it as a business, then i have no hard info, and would therefor consider it as risky (pessimist).

I haven't had any problems with it, but here's a site with the horror stories: http://www.paypalwarning.com/Default.htm
I dunno how much truth there is to the claims, but as a precaution, I transfer funds to my bank as soon as I get them....just in case!

I haven't had any problematic experiences of them, but know of people who had. From the sick things I've heard, PayPal's reputation is questionable.

My wife and I have used it from both buyer/seller sides for about a year now and we both like it alot. We haven't had any problems at all.
Two thumbs up! |
