Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead
Yassin fell victim to hatred he preached
This is one of the best pieces of journalism I've ever seen regarding the middle east situation. At least the best short, newspaper article. Whether you agree with it or not, whether it matches your political ideology or not, know one thing; it is accurate...it is truth. Quote: | Those who cheer the death of innocents can expect to find little sympathy when they mourn their own. | I say three cheers for Israel. Good for them for having the smarts to know what to do...and for having the balls to actually do it. Cutting off the head of the snake doesn't always kill it, but it's worth a shot.

But you seem to forget that it still won't solve the problem.

Didn't they just hire a new guy? I heard he's ultrahardline and worse that Yassin. So I wouldn't say that killing Yassin was necessarily a good thing.

Of course one single action won't solve the problem. Don't be silly and naive. But it's one of many puzzle pieces that will one day complete the puzzle.

*EDIT* Luckily their new leader had some sense and said that Hamas has no plans to attack American targets

How so? Hamas is already trying their best to destroy Israel.
I don't see how new management could be that much different.

Outpatient, dont be naive yourself. You think they're gonna give up just because the Israelis keep on killing their leaders? This will only further add to the hatred and they're just gonna keep replacing them with more hardcore people.

Just roll over into the ocean? What choice do they have? You still think some magical "peace agreement" is going to come along and make everyone happy? If you have any sense at all you know damn well what the Arabs want. They want Israel gone. They don't want some agreement or compromise. They will never be happy till the Jews are gone. And I say people that are that unwilling to make peace need to be taken out of the equation. I think it's about time Israel bust out some of their nukes and speed up this process. Luckily they got more sense than that. But I applaud their will to fight tooth and nail against those that would drive them into the ocean.
Do you really think there would still be any death and destruction if the Palestinians/Arabs would just leave the Israelis alone? No there wouldn't be. Israel is not fighting to conquer anyone, they are not fighting to achieve some goal at the expense of another race...they are merely fighting to survive...they are fighting back. I admire them for that. As for the other side of the argument, I can't even phantom what the logic is, other than "kill the Jews". Maybe you could enlighten me?

Yassin was an evangelist of odium and a strategist of terror who, in his miserable life, never accepted anything less than the destruction of Israel, the reclamation of an idealized Palestine that never existed, and the creation of an Islamic state in the ashes of Zion. To that end, Hamas trained and dispatched its army of brainwashed suicide bombers on women and children and elderly civilians.
| Interesting article. I liked the last line of the article the best
