cheers AuraEdge, since changing a few options I have not recieved any more spam, I guess I'll have to wait and see though

My 8 digit number starts out 102. I still use ICQ 99b and rarely receive spam....Can't stand the ads in the newer ICQ... Might try the link from FalcomPSX though...

Just started using Trillian so I will see how it works out...........

I had to check the box for denying all messages from people not on my list since the spam got so bad.

If you're fed up with the ads, try Trilian (www.ceruleanstudios.com). It's donation-ware and very useful. Does AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ all from within one window. I never looked at ICQ or AIM, but it's currently using ~10MB of RAM under XP Pro with one chat window open.

My ICQ number's pretty low.. 10,5xx,xxx. I've had it for quite a while.

i get it like crazy, i start saying things back to the bots like "who made you" trying to figure out stuff. however since the bots are sorta programmed by the person using it the phrase "who made you" is not known so it keep repeating the same thing over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over over and over. i need a way to stop these evil machines without blocking REAL people to be able to talk to me.
