doode! slow down, it might not hurt that much at all! sure some the first day, but you should be fine after that. I had the bottom 2 come in fine, the top two came in sideways! shot out my gums and went right into the saliva glands you have back there! I had mine out, a little sore, but felt better than it did before I had them out!
<<<--- and look I have such a pretty smile now!

Well Surreal...I had all of mine removed ( it's a Navy thing ) a few years back and let me tell you...drugs were a lifesaver!!

I think mine were difficult ( heck, no surprise, everything about me is ), it took about 5 hours total time, three hours for the first two and two hours for the second two, thats total time with my mouth propped open and grinders/cutters/hands and pliers inside.

Yea...the drugs were the only redeeming quality of that experience.

Dude - you'l be fine - had mine out years ago,

the whole thing took about 9 minutes from strat to finish - great guy - ok that included shhoting my gums too. little insision - cut in half for about ten seconds - pop them out - one stitch. The discomfort was realizing that I was in shock after leaving the orthos place - I should have stayed a few minutes more-

other than that I was fine - wiz

I paid cash too - great guy -

If you do a search on wisdom teeth, you'll find my story.

Wasn't bad, I've had worse.

As far as pain during the procedure? Not a chance. Pure bliss if you do the gas

BTW, I had four out (impacted) at the same time. You're having ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's NOTHING. Seriously, it really isn't. Bleeding afterwards should be minimal, IMO.

Anyways, just remember to put ice on your face to stop the swelling/pain and always, always remember to take your pain pills ontime. If they say every 6 hours - they MEAN after six hours, it STOPS. In other words, take them every 4 1/2 - 5 hours and you'll be fine

I don't deal with teeth pain well.... pain is ok... but, pain in my jaw is bad.... (from all the piercings i got, you'd think i was immune to pain) but the very thought of pain in my mouth(teeth specificly...). scares the living crap out of me.

how did you guys deal with the fact that there's a HUGE hole in your gums.......

I had all 4 of mine taken out last year....and another bad one cut out at the same time.....the soreness and aching was the worse......well, next to the crazy bill I got......that I am still paying for .
My holes filled in pretty much back close to being flat.....but some food particles still get in there and can sometimes be a pain to get out....after a couple of months its like you never knew they were there..

Can u say dry cell??? That is when u need extra help with the painkillers. Ask in advance for this to make ur life easier.

[[[[personal tooth story... had my 4 removed the morning of my microbiology final during exam week. Anyother time would have been better. I still wonder if I would have been better off leaving them in. Seems that there is alot of gum room in the back of my mouth that could've been better used to chomp on that tough beef. I have nice teeth now, but I do remember that dentist that od'd on gas and having to find another. A decade or so later, I found this dentist, (hoping to be socialogically correct here) who was black and served in the Navy. He was the best dentist I ever had. He worked in the twin towers in Houston. That man took very good care of me and my teeth and gave me gas and enough pain shots that he had my total confidence. He sure was the best dentist I had ever met, he did my only root canal too. Anyone wanna mention rubber bands? Sure wish I could go back to him now...]]]]

In retrospect I have had more bad dentists than good ones, so don't be afraid to get another opinion!!!!

Best wishes....

1975, awake after 3 days of uncousions, inmense pain, surgan comes in, starts talking to me about what happened and what they did to me, Son I'v got some bad news, { I'll never walk again I'm thinking } we had to go in and remove 8 of your back teeth. it seems the 80ft + fall that broke my back and jaw and ribs and legs and a arm also destory those back teeth..
Ya got nothing to worry about... If you smoke don't afterwards.. key word: dry sockett...
