Kerry not sure God is on America's side
Democratic candidate John Kerry says he is not sure God is on our side. Quote:
Elizabeth Bumiller of the NEW YORK TIMES asked Kerry: "President Bush has said that freedom and fear have always been at war, and God is not neutral between them. He's made quite clear in his speeches that he feels God is on America's side.
"Is God on America's side?"
KERRY: Well, God will -- look, I think -- I believe in God, but I don't believe, the way President Bush does, in invoking it all the time in that way. I think it is -- we pray that God is on our side, and we pray hard. And God has been on our side through most of our existence.
| Frankly, I agree with him completely. I don't believe God takes sides with or against nations. Of course, God is not neutral with respect to good and evil, but that's quite a different question.

Agreed, its ridiculous to think that God is 100% on america's side
I wouldn't believe in a bias god.
I bet God prefers chevy over ford too

The thought that GOD is on anyone's side seems quite unreal. God gave us freedom of choice. We choose to war and not settle our problems in civilized ways. I'm sure God is quite disgusted with the human race and may be sorry he ever created it. The day of reckoning will be coming and each of us will have to settle our transgretions, one on one with the Almighty. Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa.

I agree with Osprey . There has never been a major conflict that both sides have not been absolutely sure that their god was on their side.
Personally I think God has more important things to do than worry about a bunch of feuding children.
He sort of gave everyone a guide to follow and some seem to have lost sight of what the final goal is.
You know, like the do unto others part and the money changers and the do not covet and don't forget the killing part.

ww2 for instance, there was a town taken by both sides, british and germans. A statue was about to fall, the british said "if that statue falls, god will not be on our side", germans likewise said "if that statue falls, good will be on our side". The statue fell, the british won.
Moral of the story: It's all BS!

Invoking references to God is merely another way that politicians can unite the nation behind the government. They invoke God in an attempt to persuade the people that the path they are following is the one approved of by God, subsequently reinforcing public opinion.
Just another public relations tactic.
