Connecting feelings to smells...
do you have this too, connecting feelings to smells (for an example)?
like smelling a perfume and getting the same feeling everytime!
there are a lot of good connnections, but now i always feel down using my AXE body spray because i thought about someone, the first time i used it! it's terrible, is there a way to get away from this??

Sometimes I can watch a program on TV,and if I have been there I can actually remember the smells associated with that event. For instance If I'm watching racing, and watch them fuel the cars,I can smell the fuel,I used to work in a shop that built racecars. It is more than a memory,I mean I can actually smell the stuff.
Is that what you mean Creatures?

For connection to memories or feeling, smell is the strongest sense we have, by far. It's much more powerful than sight, touch, sound, or taste.

Yes sir, I had a girlfriend in college who used to wear Ralph Lauren purfume. Whenever I smell that, I think of her.

It happens to me all the time. Smells and songs are most common for me.

As far as disassociating a memory from a smell, good luck. You'll only have limited success. Best way is to just inundate youself with the smell, deal with the feelings and let them fade. Eventually you should have minimal problems with the smell. But if you ever take a break from the aroma and then you unexpectedly smell it again, yep, your initial feelings will come back. Practically impossible to disconnect associated feelings from a smell. My advice: change body sprays.
