I just got back from rescuing a model airplane from a tree.
My young friend let it get away from him out of range of the transmitter and it zoomed into a tree. It took a 30' ladder and a long 20' king pole (fishing rod) with a wire noose on the end to get it down.As I pulled down on the pole the branch I was leaning the ladder on moved in a sudden gust of wind and caused the ladder to shift sideways. I thought I was going down.
Anyway I dropped the pole and airplane and slid down the ladders edge falling the last 10' as the ladder slid off the branch.
I got away without a scratch and the plane only had slight damage.
Next time I'm taking my Mossberg, it's not worth breaking a leg for a $100 plane!
ps did I say I am not keen on heights ?
