Ya know Ponzspyder, the first thing that went thru my head when I saw the pic of your truck was "I wonder if the doors are still good". I guess even though I have put the Blazer of mine on the back-burner, it have yet to stop thinking about it all the time.
Too bad about that truck though. That always sucks.

Warthog: scary pics. Ive got a toyota tacoma pickup truck - if your next car
or truck is going to be a toyota, youve made a good choice. the trucks have real frames just like your bmw did, so you know their safe and solid. and the tacoma corners excellantly, ALMOST like a bmw.

I'd like to show what a Tercel looks like after a deer hit at 70 km/h. Incredible : I'm still driving it ! (repaired of course)
Nowhere to upload the pic, so just think of it for now.

The fact that the taurus slid under the bumper of the beemer is what caused the damage to the Taurus to be so severe. Had they hit bumper to bumper, I am sure the score would be closer.

unless some guy is trying to make Ford look bad, which would be silly.
| Quite right. Ford already makes themselves look so bad it would be silly to even try to outdo them.
Seriously though, if there's any company I'm more biased against than I am against M$, it would have to be Ford. As far as I'm concerned any vechicle with the word "Ford" on it is one POS from one bumper to the other. Case in point: the folks had an '89 Taurus with 125k miles on it.... they sold it for $400 - and they were trying to sell it for $600, but couldn't get that much for it. No, it hadn't been in an accident. Now compare that with my '89 Accord... it has 195k miles on it and is worth about $3,500 yet (insurance value). It's still easily in twice as good shape as the Taurus was.
Also, if you really want to know, I've driven plenty of different Fords. I've driven eveyrthing from their full-sized fan to a little two-door Escort. So I'm not entirely posting out of ignorance...
Sadly, when it comes to cars, American products just don't cut it... |

So, the Taurus should have almost slid *under* the Beemer, not hit it *above* the bumper on the taillight.
| Maybe the driver of the beemer was shall we say gravity enhanced? Thus lowering the ride level of the beemer.
Thos pics remind me of the citation that hit my Nova. dented my quarterpanel which I fixed that afternoon, but that poor citation was hauled off on a car hauler, wouldn't even roll. I drove mine home.
PonzSpyder, you need a front clip for that truck? I have a couple of them. But you see even yardfarming at 65 and the thing is still fixable, thats just a chevy for ya.

Nah, I put her to sleep. The engine got knocked back into the trans a bit so there was no telling what kind of problems I might find in there. Not to mention that the very front corner part of the frame was slightly bent, at that point I start to worry about the integrity of the truck overall. Mind you, it did take quite a beating and turned out great compared to what a smaller vehicle would have looked like, plus as you see, I was fine and the windshield didnt even get touched.
Maybe I have to thank all those little trees that I plowed through first for softening the blow of that last one, lol. As you see it hit on the very right side of the truck, I ALMOST MISSED IT! I was trying to steer clear of the big ones but without a front tire to steer with, it was a bit hard.
My insurance was liability only and the rear end was still fine so I sold parts and then made my donation to the junk yard
