Clear Channel pulls Howard Stern's plug
Howard Stern suspended for a show that was, "vulgar, offensive and insulting, not just to women and African Americans but to anyone with a sense of common decency," Clear Channel Radio Chief Executive John Hogan said in a statement.
Which Howard Stern did this guy think he was listening to before?

Clear Channel just got a major fine in Florida for a vulgar morning show, and the FCC is breathing down their necks.

It's their "new" zero tolerance policy. Say bye bye to public radio.

This is a major blow to Howard Stern since Clear Channel is such a big outift.
Clear Channel owns 99% of all the stations in my city. Every station has the same fricken commercials and DJ's swap all the time. I dont care for Clear Channels monopoly in my area.

The CCC execs are running scared pending the CEO's tesitmony before a Congressional panel this week.
Any content that is even slightly questionable has been hacked from CCC programming for the interim period, at least until public and FCC attention shifts to another entertainment sector. Recent actions at CCC have resulted in several layoffs, fines, suspensions, and internal inquries.
Given the the recent problems at CCC, I am now down to listening either John Boy and Billy or Lex and Terry in the mornings. The first just uses inuendo and suggestion to get around FCC rules, and the second is perhaps the most offensive show currently on radio. What great choices we have in Tampa these days.
I am about to start recording Love Lines during the late night hours just to have something to listen to in the morning. :/

Even without the recent activities in question, Howard Stern has been fined and warned on many occasions. His title of Shock Jock is well earned. While I like listening to him from time to time, he does push the limits and needs to be calmed down a bit or he will just keeping getting more absurd. Although it is really the public who is the blame since they are who listen to him.

Stern's an offensive jerk, and should have been yanked off the air years ago.
They syndicated his show here in Denver for a while, and it flopped horribly, and was dropped locally.
I guess Denverites just have more morals and better taste than other cities who think his kind of tastless "entertainment" is worthwhile.
Good ridance. I hope they never let him back on the air.
