What a moron. That, of course, is only my opinion.

Twenty years ago, everyone knew what marriage was, so this was unnecessary. Now it seems the only way to win your point with activist judges is to amend the constitution. The alternative is to end up with marriage meaning nothing.

Marriage shouldn't be defined by a law. It means something different to every single person. Once society realizes that, things will get a lot smoother. Trying to impose a certain view of marriage on a people is no different from relgious "reformation." Unfortunately, such narrow-minded people do exist and they are prevalant within society and the government. And that's why we can't get along.

Amending the Bill of Rights is always a bad idea. Why, next thing, they'll be repealing the Second Amendment...

It seems to me that a "rose by any other name is still a rose" should result in satisfaction of those if "equal" rights" are guaranteed to civil unions and the traditional value of the institution of marriage.

Or is the point being that what is really desired is to shove marriage of same sex couples in the face of traditional value people who far outnumber the same sex crowd?

Do they want the "name" or the "rights?"

Bill

Shove in the face of?? Is that what women did in this country when they wanted the right to vote? Shoved it in the face of the menfolk? Made things unpleasant to look at? Please explain your statement, Bill.
