What to do in Chicago?

Well, I'm gonna be here for a while. What is there to do in Chicago? Regular fun type stuff... The tourist stuff wears off and I don't drink. I've been walking around town, and there just doesn't seem to be a lot to do. Is there something I'm missing?

Lots of things! The top two things I would recommend:
1. Blue Man Group - Briar St. Theatre
2. Gino's Pizza! w00t w00t

You could do the other touristy crap, but why would you want to? (i.e. Magnificent mile, the loop).

You could spend several days just looking around the Art Institute (I don't think that really qualifies as "touristy"). There's a Russian submarine that you can walk through at another museum -- I forget which. I'd like to see that.

Also, cheeburga, cheeburga, cheeburga at the Billy Goat Tavern! (Have a Coke. No Pepsi.)

The Museum of Science and Industry

Among other things, it has an actual German U-boat (sub) captured during WW2.

I also recommend the Shedd Aquarium
http://www.sheddnet.org/

and Field Museum
http://www.fmnh.org/

It is very easy to kill a day in any one of those, especially Science and Industry.

Agreed on Sci and Ind museum... they got an OmniMax theather thats pretty awesome

If you're there for St. Patty's day they have a huge bash in chicago where they literally turn the river a bright green with food coloring.

You could hook up with Chiguy he lives in that area

I agree with Mike, Blue Man Group at Briar St. Theatre is a lot of fun. Also, if you like burgers, there is Billy Goats (from SNL) which is directly across the street from the Tribune building, under the streets. GREAT burgers! And finally, between the NBC building and the Tribune building is where I proposed to Caroline (really pretty at night around Christmas when all the trees were lit).

Also, check out the ‘burbs. Downtown Naperville is a neat place, and Oakbrook has a pretty neat outdoor mall.

ILC

Pexster beat already mentioned Billy Goats and the museums, like Gomer mentioned, are alot of fun too (don't go on weekends as they can get really crowded).

That was really fun! I went to see the Blue Man Group that night, actually. It was crazy, drunk guys stumbling around and it wasn't even 10 A.M. yet.

Someone already mentioned the Museum of Science and Industry, which to me is the best thing in town.

My next favorite is The Art Instituite of Chigago- go there to see "American Gothic" (you know the paining of the old farmer with pitch fork and his wife).

Also- just get some of that good double crust pizza.
