I'M BACK!!!
i don't know if many of you know but i was going into the air force on the 29th of december and i am really happy to say that i just graduated and i am at tech school in wichita falls in texas to be a crew chief on an f-16! just in case you all are wondering, yes, basic training is really hard!!! especially being without my computer!!! i'm trying to get a laptop now, i don't much money to work with but i NEED to get one! any ideas? i want on that can play fairly good games like civ3 and uru. you have alot more time to do what you want in tech school as opposed to basic training so i want to be able to play games and not get involved with the other airman in my hallway, they all just want to drink and brake all the rules basically. just thought i'd say hi to all the friends that i made while i was here!!

Welcome back :-)
I have a cousin who just went to Iraq with the air force, he gets pretty bored with all the downtime. I'll let someone else suggest a good laptop for ya. Have a good time., and thanks for your work!

whats basic like now? I went thru in the dreadful hot summer of 85....starting at the end of august.
Is it still 6 weeks?
We went to the local mall on our day of off base liberty..we went and watched "invasion USA" with church norris, lol.
JP
Some advice from one who can look back on it etc.
Get addresses from the guys you meet and are friends with....take pictures etc....it will be cool to look some of em up later on down the road and laugh at the pics and memories.
Also get at least a BASIC plan for what you want to get out of your stay in the service and roghly where you want to be when you get out....no one else can do that for you.

362nd, we have a few people here who are crew chiefs on a-10's, of course we didn't choose what plane we work on, if we did i'd choose a-10 because it has the shortest of the planes, (f-16/f-117, f-15 and a-10). yes, basic is 6 weeks but mine was 7 because of the time that i came in. i have no regrets about doing it though, if i had to i'd do it again. tech school is awesome, i start classes on tuesday so you can't beat that. oh the laptop thing, my dad might be helping me get a dell. thank you all for the support, it's good to know that people appreciate what we all do.
