Breathalyzer in every car?

The New Mexico State House has passed a law making it mandatory for auto manufacturers to install a breathalyzer ignition interlock in every new car, starting in 2008.

Wonderful. Geee that can't be defeated with a pump a hose. Must be great when the thing stops working too or after you spray a little breath freshner in you mouth then can't drive for a half hour.

I can just see it now "hello miss would you please blow on my breathalyzer I need to get to school to pick up my kid and I just had a beer with lunch now my breath is fouled and I keep tripping the thing.

So all drivers have to pay for this crap when it should only be the drunk drivers that do. Figures.

It better not come to Canada.

If they implemented it..that would be MASSIVE!!

Cuz we ALL KNOW that THOUSANDS of people drive when they are legally drunk...can you say "leaving the football game" or "leaving the bowling alley"

This would cause some serious waves.

and lot of people with rancid breath w/o that morning shot of mouth wash

not to mention you'd constantly have to buy the little tubes you put on the end so you're not blowing on the same tip as everybody else
