World War II is a lot of fun. Why wouldn't you want links? This so called internet is a great place to learn about World War 2.

Any particular event/moment/battle that you want to hear my perspective on?

*EDIT* I kind of know about WW2. - Don't want to write you a novel.

Narrow it down for me - Tokyo firebombings, American atrocities, German atrocities, Japanese atrocities, desert fighting, U-Boats, Battle of the Bulge, D-Day, etc.

*EDIT #2* If someone finds something that shows my statements are wrong, please feel free to post a new one up.

US UK and canada invade france (operation overlord) france retaken, 1944. russian army begins "race to berlin" (literally, between two generals), 1945, russian troops enter berlin (western allies stay back due to a pact signed), russian army takes berlin german army surrenders, then german govt surrenders, 1945. war against japan calms, battle of iwo jima, 1945, japanese lose, BAD (approx 12000 (US) losses to approx 50000 (IJA - imperial japanese army)). USAF firebombs japan, later uses two nuclear weapons on japanese mainland. russian army invades japanese held manchuria, japanese army destroyed in a week, japanese surrender, Aug. 1945.

Alright, later tonight I will just start posting random thoughts about certain aspects of the war. Let me start off with a general thing about the Russians.

The Russians shouldn't have been able to beat the Germans, but they ended up doing it. One of the main reasons - Hitler broke one of the cardinal rules - DON'T GO INTO RUSSIA WHEN WINTER IS COMING! He got too involved, and his soldiers starved/froze to death.

The Russians (Communists) were sadly just as brainwashed as some of Hitler's men, but it works - The common Russian hated Nazi Germany, and what's worse? They enjoyed hating Nazi Germany.

My grandfather told me stories of men he bumped into during the war, and some Russians had multiple gun shot wounds, stitches, sickness, but they continued to fight - Honor, the hatred of Germans and Communist Russia didn't accept them back, anyway.

Hitler made another mistake in Russia (which the German soldiers had to live to regret). Instead of heading straight towards Moscow, Hitler decided it'd be "cute" and funny to toy around with Stalingrad. What better way to spit in a Russian's face, then take out the city named after their leader? That's why movies such as Enemy at the Gates were made. The Russian soldiers didn't appreciate Hitler deciding to try and take out their leader's city - Bad things happened.

Another important thing about the Russians (that helped the German commanders, a lot) was the fact that some of the Russian leaders weren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

What good is having a good sized fleet of tanks and other land vehicles chasing down a group of Germans, when you allow the Germans to outsmart you and drive you right through the middle of a swamp? (Tactics like this happened quite a bit, until the Germans were fighting in the heart of Russia, in the middle of Winter).
I will post links, and add more details (A lot better details, at that) about certain other Russian things. You'll also notice me edit my posts a lot.

Creatures: List some other things that you are interested in. Like I said earlier, I will randomly post bits of information. Depends where you hear the facts from. Here in the good 'ol U.S. of A, you won't hear people talk about too many Russian vs. German fights - Who cares, the Americans won the war on our own!

I wish most American high schools covered World War 2 and the Russians in a bit more detail - The Americans should have thanked the Russians a bit more, they kept the Germans busy for a decent amount of time.

My next post will probably detail naughty things that EVERYONE was doing. Rape, torture, etc.
