stupid cisco systems class

Frankly, I am tiring of this class. boring lectures, and a skewed test. seems that Cisco loves to upgrade the questions (sometimes they are not even in the lectures/books) and I end up flunking half of them. (teacher even says cisco updates the questions when they feel like it, and even put questions on the test that are never covered in the curriciulm) I hate hexidecimal conversions, and would shoot to kill if I saw another one. Why do I need to know how 10101010101010 goes across a <censored> CAT5E line? Why do i need to run test after test after test on a dead CAT5E line, just to determine it is dead? Hook up the tester, bounce the signal down the line, and go from there. Hmm. gee. has a break in the line. fix it! Why run a complicated math equation on the damn thing, just to find out a packet collision is happening because the line is broken, and the end is not terminated? why why? I have had some very nasty situations with computers over the years (SCO products trashing hard disks) botched operating installs, crappy programs that never work right, and take a computer down to it's knees, people in new york, who I have never seen, and don't fly out to fix a problem, and I do it right over the internet. I have had some very nasty problems that people asked for help with, and I fix em. All without taking a class that changes test questions every 2 minutes, spending craploads of money on a set of books that never work right, but by one simple thing:

putting aside the algebra, calculus ridden B.S. excuses for "fixes" and hopping into the trenches!!!

To me, this class feels like a bad version of doctors school. Imagine this:

Umm, does this hurt? If I touch you on your thigh bone, does the pain radiate up through your Hips, through your bladder, travel through your lungs, decides to go back down, take a detour, send a shockwave through your gall bladder, goes up your throat, passes through your nostrils, and finally you have a massive migraine in your #4 brain center, right next to the part of your brain that controls your thoughts? "Sir, I just have a headache"

See how annoying it is? Why do you need long, drawn out, half assed situations, just to figure out you have a headache?

Same thing applys to computers. if kernel32.dll takes a dump, and forces me to restart my computer, I can start by tracing the problem back to it's source. Seems like I installed a program that conflicts with kernel32.dll. simple fix, trash the program. Instead, if I follow this cisco class, I would be taking my hard disk out, flying to a room that is completely dust free, wearing a bunny suit, opening my hard disk, using a microscope, and several other devices, just to figure out that "ProgramX" is causing a error with kernel32.dll. Everything in this class is overkill.

Now, if you will excuse me, I will map my bodies genome sequence, analyze my body under a microscope, give myself a full blood panel, test my fluids, count the hairs on my head, make sure I have no wax in my ears, go for another blood panel, and finally decide after a battery of tests that I have a headache, and need some tylenol and rest.

sorry for rambling. I'm not the only one having problems with the tests. Just seems annoying that there is so much "trash" information. I'm only taking this class because it is a prerequisite for another class
