I need to make a spark activated by remotely
I need to be able to make a hot spark (or maybe an electric spark) controlled by RF frequencies or by a wire. Is there a guide on how to do this? I'm comfortable working with electronics and a soldering gun, so anything that would help me please let me know. Infrared MAY work, but usually it doesn't have any range and no one uses the technology in the first place.
What I'm trying to do make a car starter without actually using a key. Someone wanted to see my skills, among other things, so I thought that this would be a good way to get all Monster Garage on them. The device can be wired, but wireless would be cool, and what would be ultra-cool is if I used a watch to do it remotely using the timer, ala any movie that does that, and freak people out when the car just "started" and no one was near it.
I can get pretty much anything I need, like remote car unlockers and stuff. So don't hesitate to include anything.

They already have remote control vehicle management systems. Like this.
Why reinvent the wheel?
Cheers

That would defeat the whole entire purpose of this project - to experiment and have some fun. I know you can buy kits like the one you mentioned, but it's always better if you made it yourself. Plus - I'm not saying I'll be fully using it for it's intended purpose, I just need to do it for the sake of doing it.
Help!

Maybe help with some ideas in there?
Cheers

Yeah but I don't have a computer or a PCI slot in a car. But on second thought - I might get one of those! (strictly for fun)

What does making a spark have to do with remotely starting a car?

My question is the same as that of gomer.
Just firing a spark will do no good in starting a car. You need to turn the engine over, fire the injectors, and have a spark.
Now if you are looking for a trigger system like I use on my holloween demonstration I could help you there. But just firing a bunch of sparks at your car is like trying to start a car with out gas.

Anyways, one of my home boys thinks he can frick with the ignition somehow and do it that way. I'm not asking questions at this point, he just wants me to learn something.
Go figure.
But Epidemic, your halloween spark thing may prove handy in a future experiment (cue evil maniacle laugh), is there a site online that has diagrams?

Creating a spark by RF can be dangerous if used with explosives for instance. It is generally believed that is what happened to Joseph Kennedy, JFK's brother in WWII.
To control anything by RF (explosives or not) requires an elaborate setup involving RF transmitters sending timed signals on different frequencies simultaneously, locking in 'trap' circuits which will then allow the final action (a spark, for instance) to occur.
