Considering getting XM PCR - What do you think?

I've thought about getting XM sattelite radio for some time, and now that I've talked to a freind who has it and loves it, I think it's time to look into it with "Sirrus-ness". The XM PCR looks good because it's cheap, mainly ($50 + $15 setup + $10/month), but I can also control it from my PC. Imagine - going to a coffee shop, sitting outside with a laptop and WiFi access, plugging in the reciever and surfing Slashdot while listening to Lars Larson. Pure nirvana.....

Anways, my main problem is that the receiver needs a line-of-sight connection, so that means running the cable and placing the widget on the roof covered with a plastic bag. And I realize that reception can blow during storms, but how often do we have heavy storms in Oregon? (cough).

But could someone back up my freind's experience?

Im a firm believer in XM---have it in my car (via Pioneer) also the house plus I purchased the XM boombox---XM just went commercial free and added a dozen new "channels"...
The PCR is the cheapest entry, your antenna is snow friendly so forget the need to bag it, I havnt had a problem with rain and tested it recently with a large storm (few and far between here) your music listening experience as you now know it will change DRAMATICALLY---I ported my inhome to the computer so I could record the XM signal---if you can spend a few more bux check into the XM Roady, they offer a free inhome or car connect and its just over 100$---also check out the XM fansite before purchasing, it may assist in you making a wiser purchase...

XM has INCREDIBLY changed my music listening experience...
