They aint hard to take apart......and not to hard to fix up.

Would save you alot of money.

It needs to be fixed/replaced anyways....so why not try the cheap way first, then if it cant be fixed.....get a new part.

Thanks for the linkage guys - I'm pretty much set on taking it apart next week to see what's broken (I have Monday off).

I'll update the thread with pics and such if it's more complex than I imagined.

Well, Nunya beat me to it, but theres the place I would suggest you locate a good used part thru.

BTW, Nunya put me onto that place a few weeks ago and it has been a real life saver for me and my customers.

Update:

While I appreciate all your info I went ahead and got the part I needed from Advance Auto - it was about the same price as the internet guys are charging and I could get my hands on it that morning. (And knowing that makes me feel a LOT better) The funny thing was after spending the better part of the afternoon installing it (and using a whole lot of profanity in the process) the problem remained. Turns out all I needed was a little stock item part they had for $2.49 + tax that I switched out while still in thier parking lot.

Live and learn I guess..

I'm just thankful it's fixed.
