Is 4GB of RAM overkill?
I have 2GB or PC3200 DDR RAM in a 875 Intel board. My buddy just got a new PC and had to extra 1GB dimms. I'm running WinXP Pro. Is 4GB a waste or to much memory?
Thanks.

I think it is a waste unless you run a LOT of programs at one time.
I bet it will feel good though. More Power.

If its just for a home pc then its overkill.
You ...could... utilize it but you'd have to try really hard lol.
Now if we were talking a computer used as a server then thats the whole different story

I use the PC as a gaming machine (SWG/Evercrack) and as a file server/Ventrilo server.
I'm sure it's overkill, but it should be fun, since XP can use 64gb of ram I believe.
