Kids *aLiEnWaRe*????

I've been reading a lot of feedbacks about alienware, and they all seem to say the same thing. Does anybody know if the Alienware 51m laptop is any good? I've heard a lot of good things about alienware and the computers that they build, but can someone just be straight up with me?

Really good computers for gamers especially. Unique and far out looking at a premium price. If you need a laptop for gaming then the 51M is your best bet. Shop around though. Dell has some very good laptops with good(for a laptop) video cards for a bit less.

hey

Actually, I already placed my order online, but I still have time to cancel my order. After looking through the feedbacks that other people left, it just kind of made me skeptical, but mostly, all they complained about was the shipping and that it took forever to build it. I guess we'll see.....Thanks for replying...=)

If shipping is the only concern... I wouldn't worry too much.

I have also heard alot of good things from Alienware as they build really good laptops. I have yet to test one as I use IBM P4 M41 Laptop.

Cutting edge technology at a very premium price. That seems to be the general consensus. And as you mention, Alienware machines are non-proprietary so they can be upgraded easily. Jim

At Home

All Alienware computers are great! If you get the Area 51M make sure you get a regular P4 processor and none of that Centrino crap, they are really slow. If you got the wallet, then buy it! But honestly, with the rate of technologies expansion, it hardly makes sense to buy a $2500+ computer which will no longer be top of the line in probably a few months. But if you really got to get it, then I suggest looking at Voodoo PC, ABS, and Falcon Northwest. Good Luck with your decision!

If' you're looking for a portable LAN party box, a better buy is some kind of high-end unit using a Shuttle-style mini tower.

Grab an LCD and you're talking a much-more-upgradeable machine for about 1/2 the price.
