Ink cartridges killing my pockets!

I have an printer/scanner/copier Xerox XK40c the cartridges are $42 and $46, (I'm running 98se)

I'm about to upgrade to XP pro, this machine does not have updated drivers for XP

So could some one recommend a all in one with cartridges that won't kill my pockets?

Not sure about all in ones but I always buy Epson printers so I can use generic cartridges that cost about $4 each. Find a couple models of Canon or Epson all in ones and then look for compatible cartridges at www.extracartridges.com
Canon and Epson are the 2 companies that are most likely to use generic cartridges. FYI, the printer division of HP is considered the most valuable part of the company due to its ability to generate high profits from ink sales. They give you a printer at cost and then hose you on the ink.

It's the old Gillette razor ploy. You can give the razors away; they still have to buy the blades.

Yes, you can refill the Xerox carts. I did it with my C6 'til it died. I did a search for Xerox XK40c and came up empty. Are you sure that's the model no.
. Must be one they didn't sell in the states. Found XP driver for it on the Xerox Brazil web site.
.bh.
