Mwave first experience, not good.

Order ~$11,000 in products on 12/18. All items in stock (atleast that was what their website reported). Received one part of the order (a server) fairly quickly. Then I waited, and waited, and waited. I finally call around January 5th to find out where the remaining $7,000 of my order was (3 assembled and tested workstations). Sales person says she can't talk to me, manager will call me later today. I say "no call for over 2 weeks? We're you ever going to let me know about this?" Shes say, "we don't know what happened". Manager never calls. I call 2 days later, ask to speak with the manager, she says the motherboard has been discontinued (B.S.) and she suggests I choose another motherboard (I ordered 3 of them, $500 motherboards, and they had no probleming charging my CC right away for a product they didn't have in stock and is supposedly discontinued). These 3 motherboards held up the rest of the $7000 in the order? Go figure. Now it's time to see what else they have available so I tell her I'll call her back with some suggestions.

January 9th - I ask them to get me ANY of 3 different Intel 7505 chipset motherboards, their choice, whatever is easier. They say they can't get me any. A bit rediculous for such a large company, but at this point, whatever. I cancel half of the order and place it at Newegg. (They couldn't tell me they didn't carry any similar motherboards durring the last conversation several days earlier?)

Today is January 15th, I've received the motherboards, memory, power supplies and floppy drives from Newegg yesterday and the day before. Still haven't gotten the remainder of my mwave order. I call mwave this morning to find out where it is... hasn't shipped yet. They say we're sorry, don't know what happened (again). She offers to upgrade me to overnight shipping to make up for the hassles and says it will ship today. Now after all this, I am content with that and feel I made it out of this with at least knowing I'm finally going to receive the products tomorrow. I just checked my email (9pm) and there is the mwave email with tracking number. It shipped, amazing! My expected delivery date, January 21. That's some slow overnight shipping. I actually count 6 nights myself. I guess she never really said "next day", just "overnight". :P

In the end, I was slapped around like a $2 whore for my $10,000 order. Now this was my first time dealing with them so they had the potential to get quite a bit of business from me, in the range of $30k - $100k per month. This is why CDW is such a major player, no games like this chop shop. I've learned my lesson and it will continue to be CDW for 80-90% of the stuff I buy and Newegg for those specialty items. If these guys treat people who purcahse as much as I do like this, I feel sorry for the $200 shopper. If that's you and you just purchased from them, Good Luck!!!! I hope your experience is better than my own.

I had a very bad experience with MWave a couple years ago. Mistakes do happen, so when I called them to politely arrange return of the wrong parts they'd sent and attempt to get the parts I'd ordered and paid for, I expected a reasonable response. But I hit a brick wall, had to pay for their error, and weeks went by before I had the parts I had originally ordered. It wasn't the fact that they made an error, but the fact that they flatly refused to at least make an attempt to pay for return shipping of the wrong parts, or try to get me the parts I'd ordered in a reasonable amount of time that led me to vote with my wallet. They haven't, and won't see any of my money again, nor any of my friends or clients.
