Video cards?

Alright people i got a couple of questions.

But before. i will list my system:

ECS k7s5a PRO
AMD athlon 1800+ XP w/ std HSF
Kingston valueram 2100 512 (2x256)
onboard sound
Asus gf2 mx400 32 mb video card.

I bought a Gainward GeForce 4 mx440 with 8x agp 64 mb

What i want to know is:
- IS this card good?
- I want to buy a Ti4200 and return this one
- My results with fx5200's werent great
- and what card would yuou recommend under $120
- Also, when i installed the Gainward, my computer would freeze and internet would not work, my computer woudl lag really bad, some help?

Don't have time to post much right now, but I will tell you this...IMHO, NONE of the GF4 MX Series cards are any good (I'm sure most here will agree). Take a look at Prince of Persia's system requirements:

Can't even play it with a GF4 MX card.

Fry's has got the BFG Asylum 5600 for $120 which is also pretty good for your needs.

And with the Gainward did you uninstall previous drivers and reinstall?

I would stay away from any "EZ" or "SE" versions though- they always use super slow memory to sell it cheap (and with ATI cards, pipelines are cut in half).

Ok, i just came back from frys with a new card.

Thanks for all your feedback, i really appreciate it.

THis is the card i got:

Albatron Geforce FX 5600EP:
- 128 MB DDR
- DVI, TV-out
- 8x/4x AGP
- 325 mhz engine clock
- 400 mhz RAMDAC
- 2048x1536@75Hz Max resolution.

I bought it for 95 dollars. LMK if it is good or not. Its working good right now

as long as your happy with it then it is good . there are better cards but whats that matter if your happy with it .

Albatron is a good brand. I'm using an Albatron 865PE PRO II motherboard. Sweeet!!!
