The problem with a Dell is that they all seem to run the same speed. Whether you buy their $349 deal or their $2,000 system they all seem sluggish.
Part of the solution to this is to reinstall. Take it out of the box, hook it up. Then flog it around hard for a few days to make sure it is ok. Then fdisk it and reinstall the OS without all the bloat they include.

their systems are probably the cheapest you cant find on the net
only downfall is customer service, but who needs that when we're here

cheddahboy, Best Buy stopped selling VPR Matrix computers in their stores in October. The VPR Matrix site remains up but if one goes to the Best Buy site and tries to buy one your will come up empty. A search for the brand brings up a few accessories only. They caved in to pressure from HP and others who threatened to remove their products from Best Buy stores if the VPR Matrix brand was displayed next to their equipment. They had to choose between HP and their house brand. HP won. VPR Matrix computers are history. Jim

i always relied on my brother or salesman to help me with my pc stuff until this year when i finally got burned by a salesman and my brother got tired of me calling him all the time. So I finally registered here and started asking and reading posts and to be perfectly honost....it isn't hard at all to build one yourself..!!!
I took mine all apart and put in a new motherboard, power supply, 1.4 drive, cd/rw drive, new video card, new processor (Go with AMD...useing a Athlon XP 2500 barton...best buy for your buck!!!!, put in a new fan and new mem etc. sorry to ramble

but hey, these guys know alot and if you do it yourself, believe me...you will end up with the system your thinking about in your head right now!!!2000$ is well over a awsome system built yourself!!!!

merry christmas!!!
