buying the nomad zen xtra
would it be safe for me to buy the nomad zen xtra from them. and do they make electronic gift cards cuz this guy on ebay is selling a 100 dollar one forlike 5 dollars. and if they are real can u use them even if ur getting a rebate from creative. if all this is true i can hopefully buy a 60 gb mp3 for 199

the sad thing about this
Vendor is NOT that you have to go back nineteen Ratings with Comments at Reseller Ratings to find a "Satisfied" Rating.
The sad things is:
A) That the Customers probably could have in most cases ordered the same item at a more resposible Seller;
B) That a responsible Vender may have lost out on a needed order...one that would help stay in Business in an honest way.
You can ask yourselves, "Which is the worse evil?"
But remember, a good Vender that loses out business to a bad Vender --one that promises what it cannot deliver -- either has to raise its prices, or take to misinformation just to keep up with the bad Vender.
Would you agree that knowing who the Good Sellers are helps both Customer and Good Seller?
Don't Customers and Good Venders have a common foe : the bad Vendor?

Geee, seems like a Member is having trouble buying from Err,,BUY.COM. From my point of view -and that of many others, that ain't such a bad thing !
Ah ! I noticed that at myFovorite Rating Site -- RESELLLERS RATINGS, that Buy.comhas slipped to 1.88for its last Six Months Ratings !
Now what exactly was its Last Six Months when I started this Thread ? [u]BRAND X RATING SITEhas to say to --but rembember to go to the "by date" button for the more recent Posts.
Dear Member, there are many reasons the name of the Thread is DON'T.BUY.COM --but being unable to buy from them doesn't seem to be one opf them !
Consider Yourself LUCKY !

It's risky to buy from buy.com
I buy a lot of stuff online and I rarely have problems. But I discovered that Buy.com is different from most of the sites I purchase from in a very important way: BUY.COM PUBLISHES NO TELEPHONE NUMBERS AND NO EMAIL ADDRESSES, SO CUSTOMERS ARE LIMITED TO WEB-BASED SUPPORT THAT USUALLY TAKES SEVERAL DAYS TO GET A REPLY -- IF LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A REPLY AT ALL! If everything goes perfectly with an order, I guess that's not a problem, but if there is a glitch, watch out! The problem I suffered: I placed an order for an Iomega REV drive (Firewire model) plus 8 removable REV disks, and over 8 weeks later, I still haven't received the REV drive. There was also supposed to be a $50 rebate on the product when I ordered it, but due to buy.com's delay, I have now missed the rebate. But in the ultimate irony, buy.com sent me the 8 REV disks promptly! Of course I can't use the REV disks until I get the actual REV drive! And now, according to buy.com's policy, I've waited too long to return the disks! I have no idea if or when I'll get the REV drive from buy.com. I've sent 4 web-based complaints, and only received 1 "form" response several weeks ago which said buy.com can not estimate when out-of-stock products will ship. The most annoying (and deceptive) thing is, the entire time I've been waiting, buy.com's site has said the drive ships in 1-2 days, seemingly fibbing to the public in order to steal purchases from honest sites (who at least admit when an item isn't in stock). With dishonestly about availability and no way to actually speak to the people at buy.com, I can confidently say that I will never buy from this company again. I strongly recommend that web shoppers avoid stores that don't offer telephone customer support. Buy.com gives the appearance of a large, reputable company, so many people (like myself) don't take the time to see how poor their customer service is.
***UPDATE #1: I was scanning other reviews of Buy.com and found a super-secret, unpublished customer support line (based in India, of course), so here it is for anyone desperate to contact them: 877-780-2464. I found out my item is supposedly still out of stock, even thought the website still says it ships in 1-2 days. I cancelled the order, but it will supposedly take 3-5 days to actually cancel in their system, and if the item comes in during this time, they will ship it to me (which means I can't order the item elsewhere until I wait for the cancelation to be processed).
***UPDATE #2: It's now 8 business days after canceling the item (that I've waited 2 months for, though the site has always said ships in 1-2 days), and buy.com still shows my cancellation as pending. I called their unpublished support number and the person I spoke said she would put through an urgent request to resolve my matter. I was told it would take up to 5 days to receive a response (another 5 days!!!). I asked if she agreed that this I had not been treated fairly by buy.com, and she said yes. I can't believe how much energy this is taking... Needless to say, I was quite upset as a result of this, and have tried to find everyplace possible to publish this story.

as the Ratings at ResellerRatings have dropped even further.
They are BE-Low ONE on Customer Service and Return and Replace.

I am in the middle of a very bad experience with buy.com. They are late with my order by one week. There is no tracking number available and they keep telling me to wait 2-3 days for a refund. I have lost confidence in their ability to deliver a refund.
I am currently dealing with Customer Support "supervisors" in California. The phone number is 949-389-2000 and ask to speak to a supervisor. They are marginally better than the Customer Support in India.
I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. No resolution yet.
Does anyone know of a way to successfully deal with this company?

I Remember
The IPO BUY.COM
I bought it.
It started great with good service and prices.
Things got tough in the market.
Soooooo they filed protection, and EAT all the investors money.
Including my "BIG Chunk" of a working mans portfolio
Now there all solid , good and fine.
If they went under today I'd loose no sleep.

Rebate expired 11/15
Shipped 11/16 to the wrong address
Claim submitted 12/8
No response as of 12/22
These guys won't be in business much longer operating like this. Don't be tempted by great bargains. They'll just end up taking your money.
