I bought a DVR from them last year. They shipped it. I use it. I didn't come here to win an argument, just to give you a tip. I guess that didn't work.

Dear distinguished Member Consumertalks , I lost about 2 + hrs. Dealing with the Oddities of Buy.com --but bailed out in time, before I wasted a dime with a Vender that couldn't A) keep it's word about FREE SHIPPING on the Checkout; and B) had NO telephone number to contact them real-time about this problem.

The reason I think that that my time is well justified to me is easily sen in the comments other Consumers made about this vender.

They show that many consumers lost not only their time, but their money. For some the time is more important, while for others he money is.

But reading their remarks, I am saddened that just about all lost both. That is why I update this thread from time to time --even giving the Vender a "paws up" on one occassion.

It is my consistent practice ( well, 99.44%) to cite Members Handles in bold typeface the first time I make reference to them in a Post/Reply. This is to show respect to all Members --regardless of my opinions of their opinions.

I do not change the Size when I bold a Name.

Without dealing with the Logic of Precognition that your next Review would be favorable because your last experience was favorable, I find it difficult to respond to your last garbled remark about "jars" etc.

Ah ! Perhaps this is your method of showing respect toward fellow Members when you don't share their opinion.

In any event, my posts on Don't buy.com were based in each instance on some new information at two Raters sites. If the information of "Very Disatisfied" was rarely changing, this is because the Opinions at ResellerRatings and another Rating Site were highly consistent in the Reviews of this Vender.

Too bad I didn't check this site [ResellersRatings] and BBB site before ordering from them, but they used to be so nice before.

P.S. And as for the Emporer Megde , who ordered -and paid for 2-day shipping on Feb. 10th, and still hasn't gotten it on Feb.20th, , well that relatively fast compared to some other buyers !

Maybe I'l send him a "tip" not to be impatient on two-day delivery from the curiusly named Company!

When I emailed a Linkey to Buy.com about their sinking ratings, their Six Month Rating stood at 4.8

After a lot of "canned replies", finally I got a promise to use info or such at next Planing Meeting or such.

Today it stands at 3.68, despite the remarkable 6 "very Satisfieds" in a row.

Hey, just when do they plan to have that Planning Meeting ?

Stil, I do have the theory that abusing Customers as regular business practice, does necessitate compensation for that wasted time.

But to be fair, I consulted The Other Site ,
where two opinions seemed very, very well written....yes Bye.com must be paying attention to its Ratings and two Raters back to back said they were "competitive".
