I guess they can make mistakes but in the fifteen or so times I've ordered from them I've never had no problems. Now Amazon is another story.

Very glad to hear you've had all those positive experiences with this Company. Especially glad to see you've been around TIMO, and have contributed in the past.

Now my suggestion is that you go to RESELLERRATINGS and post your good experiences with this Company, over a goodly sample of orders, if you have not already done so.

It's just that so infrequently see any good words or 'Very Satisfied' written there about thhis Company.

Earlier purchases went okay, but a recent purchase in my opinion was a really bad deal. The product went bad 1 week after installed and their response was totally unsatisfactory. I went so far as to request they remove me from their mailings as I will never buy from them again!

Ah, I haven't been here for awhile now.
Glad to be back !

But noticed that people are still buy from [Don't]Buy.com, and as of the month of October '06, the Dissatisfied outnumbered the various "Satisfieds" by a ratio of 1 to 2 1/2, or Two Satisfieds for every Five Dissatisfieds.

Some things do puzzle me, though.

There seems to be fairly strong Consensus Opinion Expressed at Reseller Ratings that this Vender is unsatisfactory, in a variety of ways However some ways seem to stand out --like selling what it doesn't own and knows (or should know) that it doesn't own it.

Still some people --I assume with all truthfulness write that "I bought XYZ from Vender and my experience was good", and I have no reason to doubt it.

While the "Draw" is predominantly Unfavorable, some lucky Buyers, by "the luck of the draw" came up Satisfied. That is good and I'm glad they posted their Satisfaction !

But onece in a while I read something like "I've bought from Store a couple of times and my experience was good. Sorry to hear others had trouble". Again, Great that they had such good luck.

But here is one that really tickles me, insofar as you generally do not speak to a person to buy anything, and almost always are communicating with a Computer Email Response System if you have reason to communicate. The "conversation" with the Computer is a tad one sided ! This post puzzles me:

I have made several purchases from buy.com and always recieved great service.

Errr..how --and WHY --would one have dealings with Customer Service if everything went right and what did you go through to actually speak to anybody who gave the "great service" ?

Musta meant he or she actually received their merchandise and relatively on time. I guess that when Buy.com is concerned, this is "great service".

Better to go to a generally reliable Reseller --even if it says it costs 1 or 2 % more than what buy.com says it sells it, than take a crap shoot that buy.com will actaully deliver as promised.
Ask yourself,"Are the odds worth a possible $ 2-$5 saving? How many hours of follow-up investment of time and effort will it take?

buy.com recently has $10 off by using google checkout, I did order one but later was informed that the item was backorder even though it was listed in stock. So, I ended up cancelling, not sure exhaust my chance to take adavantage of $10 off by using google CO.

A while ago, more than a year ago, I noticed a very very bad thing they were doing.

Where after I placed an item in a shopping cart and applied a coupon, after a few hours when coming back the prices of items in the cart would slightly increase, it was a while ago so I am not sure if it only happened with one or two items in the cart or all of them.

to the point that if I clicked on the item in the cart items page would show the original price.

that i think was an OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I experimented with it a few times, I would remove the item, put it back in the cart apply a coupon code again, open another browser and have 2 carts side by side with same items in the cart and different prices...

that was very upsetting, can you believe such a scheme? a 100% rip-off

after a few months I tested the cart again, it wasn't doing it anymore.

can you believe they were doing something like that and got away with it, and perhaps ripped of many customers that didn't notice what happened to their cart items when coming back after a while and completing the order.

You see, the real cost sometimes of dealing with buy.com is that the same item may be on sale at another Site at a somewhat higher price--but still a very good price.

By trying the roulette wheel with this Vender -which doesn't often deliver on the goods --you have foregone the chance to buy at the other Vender, which while a few bucks higher, will at least deliver on the goods.

I tell friends who ask about internet shopping to look for the lowest reputable Reseller --not just the lowest.
