Custom Built PC Ideas
Hi All! I am looking around for a good custom build computer company to buy a pc from. I have a good bit of money to work with (probably around $2000). I want this system to be good for games and for college which I will attend next year. I want a stable well built one, as I am sure everyone does. I know most say to buy the parts and build your own but I do not wish to do this. I was wondering what places you recommend/have had experience with. This topic has been brought up in the past, I can tell, but I wished to bring it up again for a more updated view. I have a list of companies I have found but people are more welcome to post new ones and please respond to these options as well with your experiences:
Dell www.dell.com
Monarch Computers www.Monarchcomputers.com
Xtremegear www.buyxg.com
Cyberpower Inc www.cyberpowerpc.com
Ibuypower www.ibuypower.com
Alienware www.alienware.com
I have found some fishy things by reviewing the resellerreviews and doing my own research. Cyberpower and Xtremegear have the same address and everything leading me to believe it is a company trying to get over a bad image and its past ratings suggest that as well. Monarch Computers seems great at first glance with its high resellerrating but it seems odd (to me at least) that it has about 300 more reviews then Dell. Anyway please provide thoughts and experiences. It will all be appreciated very much!!!

If you really dont like what you see when you plan to buy a PRE-BUILT machine..then it probably should tell ya you shouldnt do it. I myself love to build my own computers and have built exactly 239 systems for my business partners and their families. I have alot of experience with building machines, and would like to build for others now too. PM me maybe we can get togethor and build you a good machine with exactly what you need

If you are going to be in a dorm I suggest you try to make it AS QUIET AS POSSIBLE. If you have someone build it make sure it has adjustable speed fans. You may also want to say if you want a monitor included in your price.
It also wouldn't hurt for you to get a list of components and specs that are most important to you.

I've bought over a thousand dollars of parts from Monarch and they've treated me very well. Monarch will release the Hornet Pro on December 8, you might want to look into it as you read up on the Hornet here |

hmm...if it were me, i would wait untill right before collage to build my collage machine...
but, ever consider falc0n northwest? their "talon" line of computers isnt too bad, even to they have set-specs(but i would like it if they used some bartons with 400fsb/ram) http://www.falcon-nw.com/config/build.asp
BTW, probably why dell has less reviews is that people who go to resellerratings tend to be more "computer literate" and therefore have no use for dell's services(except their 100off rebates )

Monarch Computer is good. I think the people who buy from Dell mostly don't go to resellerratings, as exhibited by the numbers.
With most of those you have listed you'll be paying about 20% more for a name.If you really want pre-built try going to resellerratings and list everybody with a 9 or above, more than 200 reviews (your preference) and check those out.

if you don't want to build it yourself , just go and get a dell . dell sells more computers than any of the others you linked . i would say they sell more then all of them combined ... you sell the most you will have the most complains. dells can be built for gaming but they do get up in there costs .
my buddy just had one built about 6 months ago , i will ask him who did it . he didn't want to build it himself . i will post it after i talk to him . but remember prebuilt good gamming pc will be in the 1500$ or more range . you could build yourself a very nice pc with a lcd monitor for that if you build it yourself .
