Home theatre DVD player recommendations

Couple of years ago , I put together a home theatre system , as a part of it , I got a toshiba sd-1700 dvd player , never played but maybe two dvd's in it in two years . Well times have changed ... Maybe the third dvd ever played in this toshiba , we were watching a movie and I paused it for a break , came back to finish watching movie and no sound , tried most everything ? played around with all the settings , different dvd's , unplugged power for days , tried different tv's , different everything BUT still no sound . Anyway this toshiba sd-1700 is out of warranty so I want another ...My home theatre receiver is very flexable has S-video , optical and component input/outputs as well as rca type ... can I get some recommendations for a home dvd player based on reliability ? single or muti disc doesn't matter . Less than $200 ...

My panasonic 5disk dvd/cd home theater system comes with 5.1 surround sound speakers, can b e had for $200 at costco or the sorts.

If you don't mind , I would like the model # , I have not made up my mind yet , but I will be ordering a dvd player soon .
