Thanks for all the input.
I picked up some Imation DVD-Rs at OM for $4.99 for the 5 pack in cases.
Haven't had the time to install the burner yet but when I do I will post back on the results of this brand.
Funny, there is NO identification on them whatsoever as to the speed. The OM sales rep said he's been burning with them at 4x no problem so i'll have to give them a go.
Thanks for the heads up on "DVD Identifier V3.0", didn't realize they made an app for the ID of DVDs, very cool.

Hey, Rob:

I just bought an 8x Optorite, but haven't installed it yet, so I'm not sure which speed you have. Looking at the Optorite site, it looks like they're saying that the 4x Memorex DVD+R's will burn successfully at 8x. So I ordered on-line, a 25 spindle from Best Buy
for $29.99 + local tax, and shipped free. Pretty good deal.
Looks like the Imations you bought might burn at 8x as well.
