rma and newegg time limitation??

i m gonna do my first(and hopefully only)rma with newegg with a 8rda mobo i purchased in july.

its too old to get an exchange(over 30 days) and i know they dont stock or even list this board.

will they repair this one? or send a different, comparable one of the same brand?

another thing i cannot find is what length of time can you rma an item from purchase date?
i checked into my purchases and my original mobo which i bought in 2001 is still listed. that one is dead in a drawer. can i rma that one, also?? how does one find out online? or must i phone??

thanks

brad

You should phone for any precise answers to your questions, and hopefully they will give you an answer. Until recently, items were only returnable for one year from purchase date. If the item was still under MFG warranty, you had to send it to the MFG. Call them to see what they will do. And if you want it to be your last RMA with them, don't buy any more goods from them, IMO. I know a lot of people around here swear by NewEgg, but I have purchased a ton of goods from them and have had a lot of goods arrive dead or damaged on arrival. I still purchase on occasion from them still, though. Nobodies perfect, especially in the computer parts world. But I do tire of the cost of RMA'ing, which has put NewEgg well out of top place with me for value.

On my first personal experience with Newegg, I bought a refurbed video card, and that made me really angry when it was defective, I was expecting more along the lines of someone actually testing it out, to ensure it worked but they couldn't mark it as new. I took the chance, and I will no longer buy used/refurbed. My friend sold me these crummy parts that don't work and he claims to work , but I'm sure the traders/sellers here are much better . Second time I bought from Newegg was flawless (which is also my last since they got a warehouse in NJ, and now taxes are added, no more business from me)

Send a message via ICQ to washe
well bought the parts for my new system, all arrived very quick ly in good conditions and they are working great....

Usually your claim will have to go to Manufacturer than Newegg but drop a call to newegg maybe they can help you out...
